Knowledge Sharing in Academic Institution: Relationship between Knowledge Sharing, Channel Richness, and Absorptive Capacity

چکیده

As a service organization, for an academic institution, knowledge sharing is a critical process that needed to be done and developed always in order to achieve sustainable advantage, emphasizing its role as center of excellence. The research objection was to explore the relationship between the three constructs: Knowledge Sharing, Absorptive Capacity and Channel Richness. The conceptual and structural models were tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). It was showed that the desire to share knowledge is affected by the level of absorptive capacity owned by the performer of knowledge sharing, and that the level of absorptive capacity of the performer had positive correlation to the channel richness exist in each academic institution, although both relation were not significantly proven. This research also providing empirical findings from the academic institutions as education service organizations thus giving suggestions for the research objects, to develop knowledge sharing process within theirs
